Crochet for Knitters: Saturday 10th of March 10am - 12:30pm
Are you a knitter who wants to learn to crochet? Crochet is a handy skill for knitters, not only for rescuing a ladder of dropped stitches. Knitters can use crochet to:
- Bind off and cast on edges
- Add borders and embellishments
- Create a secure seam for garments
Materials needed : any yarn and suitable hook and 2x squares of knitting at least 5inches square (stockinette or garter stitch will work best)

Beginners Crochet: Saturday April 14th 10am- 12:30pm
In the 2.5 hour workshop, we will cover:
- The basic stitches and terminology
- How to read patterns
- Checking your gauge
- How to crochet in the round and flat
- How to change colours
Or any crochet-related topic you would be interested in learning.
You can bring a project you would like help with or purchase a kit of the yarn, hook, and pattern of one of my designs on the day (£7).

Cabled Crochet: Saturday April 21st 10am - 12:30pm
Cabling has too long been the domain of knitters, but no longer. Learn the basic techniques to add cabling and texture to your crochet. I will provide a selection of cabled crochet patterns to choose from on the day.
Please bring an Aran weight yarn and suitable hook (4.5-5mm).
You will need to know the basics of crochet, including chain, double crochet and treble crochet.

How to Design A Hat Without A Pattern May 19th 10am - 12:30pm
No Swatching. No Gauging. No Patterns. Any weight yarn. This workshop will teach you how to make a hat that fits by just picking up the hook and going. I will show you how to:
- Get a suitable size for your recipient from the start
- Choose a style - slouchie, beanie, or beret
- Show some finishing options, including brims and earflaps
Please bring aprox 100g of yarn (less if you intend on making a child-sized hat) and suitable hook. You will need to know the basics of crochet.

The workshops will take place in my Victorian home in Alloa, Clackmannanshire. Full details will be sent aproximately 2 weeks before the workshops. Cupcakes will be provided by the fabulous MaryGrace Cakes.
